KERMACO work from 2016 ZBrush Summit Sculpt-Off

It was super fun to participate in the ZBrush Summit Sculpt-Off again this year. The pressure of having to come up with a finished sculpt in 3 hours is an incredible challenge and for me, a thrill because nothing compares to sitting with 11 artists who inspire you, and being part of a sculpt jam that produces beautiful results all around when the 3 hour buzzer rings.

The workflow I used for this was mostly the ZModeler brush, Insert Mesh brushes using various IMM kits including my own, and of course, Vitaly Bulgurov's excellent ULTRABORG SubD kitbash kit : ULTRABORG

Here are some post summit renders. Since my workflow is mostly not Photoshop-centric, and more ZBrush modeling/sculpting/kitbashing and KeyShot heavy. Having more render time makes a big difference !!!

Imperial Platform on Endor Model for KMD Fan Film: STAR WARS - CALL OF THE EMPIRE

3D model of the Endor Imperial platform as it would be 30 years after the battle of Endor for KMD's fan film Star Wars-Call of the Empire. Modeled in ZBrush and Maya, and textured with Allegorithmic's Substance Painter 2.0.

Nuthin' but Mech 3

I had the honor of contributing two images to the latest Nuthin’ But Mech 3 book by Design Studio Press. Model started in Maya, then continued in ZBrush and rendered in KeyShot. Stay tuned for more images and renders which didn’t make it into the book. This edition of Nuthin' but Mech is dedicated to the memory of contributing artist Francis Tsai, a remarkable talent and inspiring figure, his work created using eye-tracking software is also featured in the book.

My digital model C3cil won 3rd place at the ZBrush Summit 2015 Sculpt off .
